Tyler LeBaron of Molecular hydrogen institute speaks on COVID and Molecular Hydrogen.

Tyler LeBaron is regarded in the industry as the ‘father’ of molecular hydrogen therapy investigations. A young ‘father’ perhaps, but he’s THE MAN to talk to regarding molecular hydrogen.

He has been asked by countless people to give a statement on the application of molecular hydrogen to CV-19. Here’s his response:

Tyler’s message:

I have received many questions about the potential use of molecular hydrogen for COVID-19. In response, I made a short video to address this question and was able to include actual footage of H2 being used in China for COVID-19 patients. Please "like" and "share" the video so that we can help spread the education and awareness of molecular hydrogen.

This video discusses COVID-19 pathophysiology and the rationale for why H2 is being clinically investigated. Molecular hydrogen (H2 gas) has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects (1), which make it potentially useful for COVID-19. Several clinical studies in China are investigating H2 therapy in COVID-19 patients (2,3). The preliminary results appear to be quite positive (4,5), which has prompted Dr. Zhong Nanshan, the epidemiologist who discovered the SARS Coronavirus in 2003, to recommend H2 therapy for COVID-19 (6). The latest version of the official guide for the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 by the Chinese National Health Commission includes hydrogen inhalation as a recommendation (7,8,9). However, more research is needed to confirm these positive preliminary results.  (see also ref 10,11 in Chinese).

Again, there is still no clinically published evidence that H2 will truly benefit COVID-19 and this information is solely for educational purposes and does not constitutes clinical evidence and is not intended to replace the guidance from your healthcare practitioner.

Also please forgive my few gaffes as I put this extemporaneous video together. For example, at one time it sounds like I suggest that cytokines will “release” neutrophils, but I mean “recruit” neutrophils.

 ABOUT MHI

We are a science-based nonprofit under Section 501(c)(3), and our mission is to advance the research, education, and awareness of hydrogen as a therapeutic medical gas. The positive effects of H2 have now been demonstrated in over 170 different human and animal disease models. However, we still have a lot of research to do. We still don’t know exactly how H2 works, and we must elucidate its primary targets and molecular mechanisms. We also need to better confirm its effects on humans with larger, well-designed clinical studies.
