This story highlights the crossover diagnosis that I am hearing about more often. And it’s exacerbated by the prevailing attitude of the established medical fraternity to Lyme disease. The US is ahead of us here in Australia where it’s not even considered a ‘real’ disease. So I was not surprised at this article about Kris Kristofferson.
Six years ago I was suffering all of the symptoms of early onset Alzheimers. I won’t detail my experience, but if anyone is interested it’s all in the video below.
I have a closer friend whose partner suffered as much through the misdiagnosis of her Lyme’s disease as she did from the disease. Spending over $100,000 with various practitioners, but traditional and alternative, she went through a living hell not only of disease but also of the feeling of complete loss of control as diagnosis after diagnosis failed her.
We eventually gave her a bottle of I LOVE H2. She was a fitness fanatic, but of course in her state she was not even capable of her reputation as ‘The runner” that she had earned at the gym with her marathon treadmill sessions.
She’s back and running today. We can’t claim to be a part of her healing because I LOV E H2 is simple a sports supplement, but what we can say was that when she came in to see us, we just didn’t recognise this beautiful, glowing new woman.
Here’s a comment I just received from my friend, her partner on this article.
“Thanks for that Ian. Until my partner was clinically diagnosed as having Lyme Disease she simply thought she was “losing it” emotionally, mentally and physically. It’s so easy to classify a person with all these weird symptoms and expressions as simply hyperchondriac, especially because of the amount of anxiety, depression and endless fatigue that come with such a shut down of the endocrine system.”
We’re neither qualified nor willing to make claims of therapeutic benefits attributed to the therapeutic use of Molecular hydrogen. However we are happy to publish or reference new studies that shed light on H2’s amazing breadth of effect. One that stood out for us was a scientific study on the effect of Molecular hydrogen on Parkinson’s Disease. This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human pilot study. Here’s a link to the full study, and here’s a link to the abstract.
Keith Hackett lives in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. He’s a happy UltraStream user. Keith rang me yesterday.. “I went to a naturopath for a hair analysis to learn what toxins I may have in my body. I got a call from her with the results. She was amazed. I had NO toxins show up. She had never seen a test like this. I am 88. My wife is 82 and loves the water too. If anyone wants to chat, I’m happy to.” Learn more about UltraStream here
Things more incredibly fast in scientific circles today. In 2007 only one report on the benefits of molecular hydrogen was published in the Western scientific press. Today over 700 studies and reports on molecular hydrogen have been published.
Studies are in three forms; in vitro (test tube based) animal and human. Human studies are of course far more costly to do, and so only products with large scale commercial potential attract the funding for this form of study.
For a non-scientific person looking for help with a health condition, the internet has opened up a huge opportunity – and a challenge. We can now delve into any study to our hearts’ content. But we have no understanding of how to assess what studies are relevant or important to our health condition. So we ‘do our best’ – aware (or not) that whatever we take notice of, is subject to our own lack of education. This also applies to the many studies of the therapeutic properties of H2. A perfect example is a study performed on rats to test the effeI always look to the last few lines of the abstract, and in this case it showed a clear result: “Thus, continuous consumption of hydrogen water reduces oxidative stress in the brain, and prevents the stress-induced decline in learning and memory caused by chronic physical restraint. Hydrogen water may be applicable for preventive use in cognitive or other neuronal disorders.” Now.. what can we do with a conclusion like that if we are not scientists? Imagine for a moment your closed relation suffering early onset Alzheimers’. Like cancer, people will look at any alternative. It’s a rat study, not a human study, so what is its relevance? And if it seems relevant what would it take for you to decide on trying H2? For instance, would this extract from the study persuade you?
“We examined learning and memory ability using the passive avoidance test. Mice instinctively prefer a dark compartment; however, if an electric shock is given in the dark compartment, the mice are normally reluctant to reenter it. At 1 or 2 weeks after restraint stress, the memory of the electric shock tended to be lost in mice provided with control degassed water. On the other hand, mice that were provided with hydrogen water ad libitum showed a trend toward improved learning and memory . Six-week restraint stress significantly impaired learning and memory in mice consuming no hydrogen water, whereas consuming hydrogen water ad libitum significantly ameliorated or prevented the cognitive impairment induced by restraint stress . In particular, more mice (fourfold) stayed in the light section for more than 300 s than control group without hydrogen . On the other hand, consumption of hydrogen water did not improve the cognitive ability when no stress was provided .” Or how about this?
“When restraint stress was applied for 6 weeks, consuming hydrogen water ad libitum significantly prevented or restored the decline in recognition and memory.” And finally,
“Thus, it is possible that during the exposure to physical restraint stress continuous consumption of hydrogen water reduced oxidative stress in the brain, resulting in the improvement of adult neurogenesis or the stimulation of neural proliferation, leading to the prevention of the decline in learning and memory. This is the first report showing a benefit of drinking hydrogen water. Thus, we propose that hydrogen water is applicable as preventive treatment by reducing oxidative stress.’
Is there more? Yes, but not enough. On the Molecular hydrogen Foundation’s website, Dr Jiangang Long, PhD, reports:
‘We are engaged in exploring mitochondrial metabolism under physiological and pathological conditions, and pursuing the mitochondrion-targeted molecules to improve mitochondrial function and maintain mitochondrial homeostasis damaged during neurodegeneration and nutritional imbalance. Since the discovery of the antioxidant effect of H2 in 2007, we recently identified the beneficial effects of H2 on mitochondrial respiratory capacity and phase 2 enzymes activation. Therefore, we considered that H2 acts as a “mitochondrial nutrient”, which will be very promising molecule in preventing and treating age-related disease and metabolic syndromes.”
So.. my question is whether this would be enough for you to try molecular hydrogen? No study has yet identified any side effects, so it would appear to be relatively safe. But I am sure we will never see it on the shelf of a Walgreen’s. See our video on eleven ways to access Molecular Hydrogen here. More information: Australia NZ USA Canada UK/EU Kuwait
We’ve been getting some amazing tales from people who’ve been using I LOVE H2 for training. Better results, less post workout pain, faster, better, higher. But when this guy sent us his video of performance increase I wonder … Learn more about this amazing sports supplement here.
OK, OK. I am sure that other nationalities have a good laugh about some translations of English that Mother Google manages to mangle. So my Japanese friends, please excuse me. I am laughing at Google, not you. I was looking at a Japanese company that manufactures canned H2 water, and clicked through to their testimonial page. Google took over and translated for me. This is the result.
“Three years continues to drink hydrogen water”
81-year-old man scheduled flight courses, such as high blood pressure medicine, is good physical condition of and one day are at various drinking are drinking this hydrogen water every morning
“Like skin has become even more beautiful!”
Women scheduled flights course second month forties usual I went to the beauty salon “M’s, where 1 to not something in two months?” And asked the hairdresser’s “like skin has become even more beautiful ! I was told. ” Once you have the story of the hydrogen water, that of the hydrogen water was not out expensive hand I was not in the mood for a long time. We recommended regular flights.
“Stomach can drink without feeling the burden!”
50s woman scheduled flights course the second day Okigake does not drink the water, but you can drink without feeling a burden on the stomach because it is light water! Head was dull.

Day 4 50 Young Men scheduled flights course feel that the next morning refreshing drank before going to bed to.
“I wake up! That thing in the middle of the night is no longer so much.”
Women in their 30s regular course 3 months sleep is but shallow for you, and start drinking the hydrogen water, wake up in the middle of the night compared to the previous! That there is no longer much. Lucena is the size outright drink, taste is also delicious. I get tired easily at low blood pressure, but I feel tired, but is slightly has been reduced.
Body now may be through your feeling became lightly
Women in their 30s trial course 10 days have upset come to various places since the birth, was particularly rash, fatigue, suffering because every day in unhealthy state to be chased by the malaise, such as … child care had been followed . I bought immediately to see that have been published in magazines. We drink to waking up and a bath, but refreshing to feel that soak into a smooth stop and the body. Body now may be through your feeling became lightly. We want to continue in the future.

A Great new talk on Molecular hydrogen from Biochemist Tyler Lebaron of Molecular Hydrogen Foundation
Tyler Lebaron is the founder of the Molecular Hydrogen Foundation, a non-profit organisation with the singular goal of placing therapeutic molecular hydrogen at the forefront of health research. We’ve been consulting with him over the last 3 years and assisted him in forming the Molecular Hydrogen Foundation. It was Tyler who tested our AlkaWay UltraStream in his AquaSciences Laboratory.
If you’d like more information on molecular hydrogen, go here and download the 17-page report our inhouse naturopath, Erica Whisson co-authored with Tyler. If you would like to try Molecular Hydrogen you can do so using the UltraStream or for a far smaller investment, a bottle of I LOVE H2 tablets.
All over western United States, notices are springing up.
Uranium, the notices warn, tests at levels considered unsafe by federal and state standards. The notices say you can drink the water — but drink the water over a period of time, and you can get cancer. USGS researchers recently sampled 170 domestic water wells in the San Joaquin Valley, and found 20 to 25 percent bore uranium at levels that broke federal and state limits. Uranium, the stuff of nuclear fuel for power plants and atom bombs, increasingly is showing in drinking water systems in major farming regions of the U.S. West. Naturally, authorities are doing little to inform the public at large of the growing risk. Government authorities say long-term exposure to uranium can damage kidneys and raise cancer risks as well as provoke other health problems. Once the uranium is in the blood, the kidney will excrete some of it in urine. Unexcreted uranium distributes to bone and soft tissue, including the kidney, liver, lung, fat, muscle, and then, to some extent, to all other organs. Though the main reservoir is the skeleton, the target organ is the kidney, where functional changes are observed. Research teams at Tufts and the University of New Mexico also link long-term exposure to signs of reproductive and genetic damage. The U.S. Geological Survey has found that in one region of Californian farms, roughly 250 miles long and encompassing major cities, up to one in 10 public water systems have raw drinking water with uranium levels that exceed federal and state safety standards.
Nearly 2 million people in California’s Central Valley and in the U.S. Midwest live within a half-mile of groundwater containing uranium over the safety standards.
Moreover, Livermore Nuclear Weapons Lab detonates about 200 radioactive “dirty bombs” a year, creating deadly and radioactive uranium gas in the heavily populated San Francisco Bay and Monterey Bay Areas of California. About 10 million people live and work within the large metropolitan areas. The Los Angeles Times reported, “The Energy Department is spending $328 million to clean up two separate areas of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Livermore is one of two U.S. labs that designed nuclear weapons. It continues to conduct research into plutonium behavior, high-powered lasers, computer-simulated nuclear reactions and other areas. Under the cloak of secrecy, the lab conducted experiments with plutonium and uranium, and fabricated prototype weapons parts. At its large test range near Tracy, in Northern California, it blew up atomic triggers that used depleted uranium. In the process, Livermore released uranium, tritium, solvents and high explosive residues into the ground and groundwater, said Judy Steenhoven, deputy chief of environmental restoration at the lab.” Molecular hydrogen has been studied and shown to have positive effects on radioactivity in the body. Here’s the study

This excellent blog post by Dr Sircus confirms our observation that molecular hydrogen is THE biggest advance in accessible health this century.
Yes, we know that sounds like aggrandizement but we say it because we’ve seen enough of the benefits from the use of the humble H2.
He says (and we agree) “It is very revealing that it is not the high pH alkaline water that provides health benefits but the molecular hydrogen – but only if the ionizer electrodes are brand new or perfectly free of scale and you drink the water right away. Otherwise, the H2 will outgas quite quickly. In other words, the hydroxide ion (OH-) is NOT responsible for most of the positive effects observed when drinking alkaline ionized water. The active antioxidant is dissolved molecular hydrogen (H2). The highest quality lower cost ionizer from a reputable company offers a sizable discount if you mention who referred you. Not all ionizers make sufficient H2 to be considered even “low level,” in terms of hydrogen concentration, as the electrolytic plates become scaled or fouled, they stop make H2 completely. Importantly, the ionizer above is one of the few that reverses the electrodes for cleaning whenever the unit has not been used for 6 hours to make sure the hydrogen concentration is constantly as high as possible. Unless ionizers have a self-cleaning feature to prevent scale and impurities from coating the electrolysis plates, the H2 concentration drastically reduces in a short time. If one is in doubt, it is good to measure the amount of hydrogen with a test kit available from www.h2bluetestkit.com The Molecular Hydrogen Foundation says, “The hydrogen gas concentration from water ionizers various significantly from less than 0.05 ppm to over 2.5 ppm depending on source water, flow rate, design, and cleanliness of the electrodes. Importantly alkaline water ionizers were developed decades before it was known of the therapeutic importance of molecular hydrogen, thus these units were optimized for alkaline pH not high dissolved hydrogen concentration. Typically, at normal flow and normal source water the concentration of H2 from an alkaline water ionizer is around 0.1 ppm to 0.7 ppm. By running the water very slowly, these machines may increase the molecular hydrogen concentration.” This quite amazing video from a doctor is worth looking at. He talks of a product called H2BEV which is a premixed hydrogen enriched water in a bottle. Technology has moved on somewhat from this with both our UltraStream and our I LOVE H2 effervescent tabs. And yes, we will look after you if you mention this article!
A new scientific study of oral H2 shows that it may be a good way to alleviate opioid-induced pain and also a little-known pain caused by light touch, called mechanical allodynia. For the first time, scientists have discovered a classic formula for pi in the world of quantum physics.
Pi is the ratio between a circle’s circumference and its diameter, and is incredibly important in pure mathematics, but now scientists have also found it “lurking” in the world of physics, when using quantum mechanics to compare the energy levels of a hydrogen atom. Why is that exciting? Well, it reveals an incredibly special and previously unknown connection between quantum physics and maths. “I find it fascinating that a purely mathematical formula from the 17th century characterises a physical system that was discovered 300 years later,” said one of the lead researchers, Tamar Friedmann, a mathematician at the University of Rochester in the US. Hey, me Too. Freaky! The discovery was made when Carl Hagen, a particle physicist at the University of Rochester, was teaching a class on quantum mechanics and explaining to his students how to use a quantum mechanical technique known as the ‘variation principle’ to approximate the energy states of a hydrogen atom. While comparing these values to conventional calculations, he noticed an unusual trend in the ratios. He asked Friedmann to help him work out this trend, and they quickly realised that it was actually a manifestation of the Wallis formula for pi – the first time it had even been derived from physics. “We weren’t looking for the Wallis formula for pi. It just fell into our laps,” said Hagen. “It was a complete surprise,” added Friedmann. “I jumped up and down when we got the Wallis formula out of equations for the hydrogen atom.” Since 1655 there have been plenty of proofs of Wallis’s formula, but all have come from the world of mathematics, and the new results have people freaking out. The results have been published in the Journal of Mathematical Physics. “This almost seems like magic,” writes maths contributor Kevin Knudson for Forbes. “That a formula for π is hidden inside the quantum mechanics of the hydrogen atom is surprising and delightful.” “Nature had kept this secret for the last 80 years,” said Friedmann. “I’m glad we revealed it.” We just can’t help but wonder what other secret connections are lurking between quantum mechanics and pure mathematics. Ian: And when we find out, what the hell we are going to do with it?

Rachel Neylan is one of our AlkaWay Sports Ambassadors, powered by our hydrogen water and supplements. Why the congreats? She just came in 2nd at the 2015 Australian women’s road race championship on Saturday, but runner-up Rachel Neylan recorded a personal victory that she hopes will help propel the 2012 UCI road worlds silver medallist toward Rio 2016. It has been a tough 18 months for the 32-year-old New South Wales native. After major oral surgery, a season-ending knee injury in 2013, and being hit by an automobile during a training ride 11 months ago, Rachel has endured what she considered “string of bad luck.” “I really needed a big ride today,” said Neylan after the race. “It’s been a pretty challenging 18 months to two years since my world championship silver medal. “I rode for the win today, but I didn’t pull it off, but to come away with a silver medal is nothing to be disappointed about.” Neylan attacked on Mt. Buninyong with a kilometer and a half to go of the 10-lap, 102-kilometer race, and dropped Mullens off a left hand turn coming into the finish. “I had a big attack there, and I did drop her and she groveled back,” Neylan said. “I really gave it my best shot. I made the race, and it was my attack that pulled us away. “Basically I called the shots the last two laps of the race, and I think it proves my race intuition and tactical ability has really developed the last couple of years, and it’s not just my strength and endurance but the ability to put that in the right place at the right time and I’m a lot more confident in that. Well done Rachel. No doubt the H2 helped.
We are currently researching the effect of hydrogen rich AlkaWay UltraStream water on the skin. There’s some good results coming out of Japanese universities showing that simply washing your face with HRW daily; a ‘cleanse’ as ladies are wont to call it, has definite effects on wrinkles. Erica, our inhouse naturopath, sent me this today.
“Taken together, we propose the following hypothetical mechanisms of wrinkle formation during UV irradiation: spontaneous contraction of the dermis while maintaining or increasing the epidermal area induces buckling of the epidermis into the dermis at mechanically weak lines, namely, the rows of pores and sulci cutis, and buckling may be amplified by the axial compression of the dermis by the muscle layer.”
Hydrogen therapy for the prevention and treatment of a variety of diseases—particularly those associated with ROS (reactive oxygen species) and inflammation—has certainly become a hot research subject. 400+ reports in peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals, including in vitro and animal studies, plus some clinical trials in humans, have already been published. Diseases that may be beneficially affected by hydrogen therapy include, (to name a few), atherosclerosis, ischemia-reperfusion injury (as occurs in heart attacks and strokes), diabetes, stress-induced cognitive impairments, Parkinson’s disease (as shown in animal models), and various aspects of the metabolic syndrome (e.g., insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance, and endothelial function). As reported in an excellent review1 on the “recent progress toward hydrogen medicine,” the author describes various methods being used in published animal and human studies to administer hydrogen: inhalation of hydrogen gas, oral ingestion by drinking hydrogen water, hydrogen baths (because hydrogen easily penetrates the skin and distributes throughout the body via blood flow),1 injection of hydrogen saline, direct absorption of hydrogen (as in hydrogen containing eye drops), and INCREASED PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN BY GUT BACTERIA. Note: One reason for the use of hydrogen water and hydrogen saline is that it is possible to reliably control the dose administered to experimental animals, which is important in determining results such as dose-response relationships. In the case of gut bacteria-provided hydrogen, it is less easy to determine the hydrogen “dose,” although one way to at least partially overcome this problem is to measure the hydrogen gas excreted by the lungs.
Conclusions of Studies: Hydrogen Is a Selective Antioxidant, Scavenging Dangerous Radicals But Not Radicals Important as Physiological Signaling Molecules
Hydrogen and carbon dioxide, as well as (in some people) methane, are gases released by colonic bacteria in the fermentation by the bacteria of carbohydrates that reach the lower digestive tract. Hydrogen has been known to have antioxidant properties for a long time, but its recognition as having some advantages over conventional antioxidants and its potential use as a therapeutic agent have only recently been explored.2,2c One of the most interesting findings concerning hydrogen as an antioxidant is the discovery that it is a novel antioxidant because it scavenges the toxic hydroxyl radical (the strongest of the oxidant species)2c and the potent oxidant peroxynitrite (formed by the reaction of superoxide and nitric oxide), but is far less effective in scavenging physiological radicals such as superoxide and nitric oxide, important (at low concentrations) as signaling molecules.2 Moreover, hydrogen is able to diffuse extremely rapidly into tissue and “effectively reaches the nucleus and mitochondria,”1suggesting “preventive effects on lifestyle-related diseases, cancer, and the aging process.”1 Hydrogen also passes through the blood-brain barrier, although most antioxidant compounds cannot do this.1

Chronic Inflammation: the Root Cause of So Many Diseases How many do you respond YES to below?: Do you feel stiff when you get up from sitting? Are any of your joints sore when you fully move them? Do your hands feel stiff? Do any of your joints feel swollen? Do you have unexplained nasal congestion? The ‘correct answer’ is NO to all of these. For the rest of us…. What even doctors often get wrong — one of the major causes of pain comes from foods that you eat. Have a look at the inflammatory foods in your diet. Sugar. This one is so obvious. Nothing damages the digestive track like sugar. The medical community is starting to agree on the fact that chronic inflammation often starts in your gut, the biggest part of your immune system. If you don’t believe me, look up Dr Robert Lustig on YouTube here. 2) Alcohol. Sorry folks but..Alcoholic beverages damage your gut flora and liver when consumed in excess. 3) Grains. Refined or not, ALL grains are inflammatory. It’s even worse if you’re gluten-sensitive, and that includes 10-15 % (depending on the sources) of the world’s population. Read Wheat Belly and change your mind! The phytic acid and lecithins in grains are a problem for most people, even without allergies or intolerance. 4) Refined vegetable oil. Canola, soybean, safflower, corn, and sunflower oils. Read Dr Mary Enig’s Know Your Fats. Even though these oils are advertised as healthy and trans-fat free, turns out the heavy refining which they go through destroy the healthy fats and turn them into highly inflammatory by-products.You should also assume that vegetable oil, canola oil, soybean oil and corn oil are genetically engineered. Investigate the natural anti inflammatory cooking oil – organic coconut oil! 5) Pasteurized dairy. 75% of the world’s population is intolerant to lactose. That’s because the pasteurization process destroys the healthy bacteria and enzymes in raw milk, and makes milk very hard to digest. 6. Take alook at the anti-inflammatory benefits of molecular hydrogen. It’s newly doscovered (2007) but has some quite amazing scientific studies behind it. As well as being anti-inflammatory, it’s a selective antioxidant and supports our natural antoxidant production plus a host of other cell pathway functions in the body. Learn more at the Molecular Hydrogen institute, or check out the UltraStream, the best producer of infused hydrogen yet tested.
It’s so exciting to get report and after report in my inbox about the beneficial effects of hydrogen.. 210 studies and counting. Woops! As at 19th of August (today) there are now over 400! I don’t expect you to read them all but for an overview of the research, click here.
